Start your keyboards! The 2014 Flash Fiction Writing Challenge starts January 1st!
Your first writing prompt is: A vagrant approaches a well-dressed man who leaves a trendy coffee shop with a five-dollar latte and a fat-free scone.
Each Wednesday, post your flash fiction or a link to your submission in the comments section of the corresponding weekly prompt.
One flash fiction story a week under 500 words for 52 weeks. Stories must be under 500 words and contain the classic story elements: protagonist, obstacles or complications, and resolution. In essence, a beginning, middle, and end. Keep in mind that the limited length of flash fiction often demands some of these elements remain unwritten–only to be hinted at or implied. Get creative!
Tell me you are participating by leaving a comment and I will add your name or blog to the participant list.
Tell the world that you are participating by adding the challenge badge to your blog. Simply save the image to your desktop and upload.

I liked yours better. Which I can’t find now. I lost all my formatting putting mine in the comment section so I’ll just post on my blog every week. I’ll try to figure out how to send you a link. Lucy
I like yours a lot!! It was great! This is really an effective way to improve our fiction writing! It allows us to test new themes, play with narrative, and develop characters!
Just linking to my blog is perfect!! I will feature submissions on the Friday Roundup! So glad you’re participating! Maybe at the end of the year we’ll have a cool book of 108 flash fiction stories!!

Happy new year to you as well! Thanks for the re-blog! Much appreciated! When you have crawled out from under the gruesome cold, I would love that you be part of the challenge! Take care, Thain in Vain.
