OMG! OMG! I never imagined this happening, so I didn’t prepare a speech. First and foremost, I must thank The Excessive Gardener for the nomination. We’ve been together since the beginning and I wouldn’t be sitting here–alone on my couch–writing a pretend acceptance speech without her. We live in different worlds: hers is one where things grow outside year round; mine not so much. Yet, we have come together in this blogging world. Thanks WordPress!
Part of this nomination is to describe myself with every letter of alphabet.
Me in a 26-word-nutshell:
A) Ageless – I’ve been told I look quite young for my age. I attribute this to immaturity and no kids
B) Books – So many have changed my life
C) Cheezies – Hawkins. They are delicious and gross and have a subtle taste of gasoline. Try them today!
D) Dog-lover – Dogs should rule this world! In dog we trust
E) Eilidh – My name. It defines me! PS it’s pronounced A-lee
F) Funny
G) Gassy – not what you think. It actually describes someone with a healthy digestive system–so don’t be hating my kick-ass digestive system.
H) Hopeful
I) Indignant – What?
J) Jazz hands
K) Krodachrome – love digital photography, but miss the days of waiting for a roll of film to be developed, and then be surprised
L) Love – My awesome dog
M) Morning glory – Early riser
N) Number disliker
O) Octopus
P) Platypus
Q) Qi – My favourite word in Scrabble
R) Runner – a long time ago just after I was a smoker
S) Saskatchewan – it’s where I’m from
T) Thain – In memory of my dad
U) Underwire bras
V) Violent Femmes – Blister in the Sun. Memories of Checkers, cheap draft, and sweaty dancing
W) Words
X) Xanadau – “Xanadau, your neon lights will shine”
Y) Yoga
Z) Zumba – I think it’s dumb

Your list is better than mine. I exposed myself as once belong to the Society for Creative Anachronism. That’s embarrassing. By the way, glad you’re with us for the zero2hero challenge. Why not join the Goodreads book reading challenge. I said I would read 60 books in 2014. I wrote my second flash fiction the same day you gave the prompt. Looking forward to the next one. Congrats my dear. Lucy
It’s not about being better. Your list is awesome! And I simple don’t have anything like the Society for Creative Anachronism to brag about!! So kudos to you!!
A reading challenge, huh??!?!??! So tempted.
Loving the Zero to Hero!! It’s a great way to get started and motivated!
Thanks Lucy!!

Looking forward to your second submission! Don’t know about you, but I’m really loving the daily writing habit I’m starting to nurture!
I was just looking at the daily post’s challenge but it’s too late to do it. It’s in the style of Gonzo reporting. I’m good at Gonzo. Should have checked earlier. Oh, well. I have a lot of books to read. Lucy
What are you reading?
Two books actually. Just finishing Dan Brown’s Inferno, don’t bother. And I’m reading book #2 of the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency: Tears of the Giraffe. I plan on reading the whole series–they’re each less than 300 pages. As soon as I’m done with one of them I’ll pick up A Thousand Splendid Suns. What are you reading?
I started listening to Inferno on audiobook, but have yet to finished it. I just picked up “Dark Places” by Gillian Flynn and “The Luminaries” by somebody I can’t remember right now!
I saw the Luminaries, probably on betterworldbooks.com. that is where I get my books. Have you ever used them? I just love them. You get a hardcover in excellent condition for #3.98 usd and free shipping anywhere in the world.
Awesome!!! Love your list!!! 😀
I totally appreciate a reader! Thanks!
