Prompt 29: Create a six-word story about anything you love to write about!
This six-word story is written in response to the tragic death of a young boy in the wrong place at the wrong tome. A truly tragic story out of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Unbelievable
By Eilidh Thain
Simple decision. Lost son. Ceased future
So sad.
Heartbreaking. Great work ❤
Thanks, Heather!
Why is it that the shortest stories are almost always the saddest? It’s hard to deliver joy in six words, and far too easy to deliver grief.
I agree! I attempted a humorous one, but it wasn’t good!
As did I. Short works need weight that humor can’t seem to carry.
I agree, but Hawaiian Supermom found that balance! Check out her submission!
I saw that! Not that I’m surprised – I love her writing. 🙂
I’ve just discovered her!!
I enjoyed this challenge and may just throw in another before we are done!
So sad.
This was a good challenge, Eilidh. I enjoyed it, and the responses that everyone came up with.
Me too!! It was at once a great challenge and a much needed (for me) break for the intense writing schedule!
Heartbreaking, Eilidh.
It is really a tragic story that got under my skin. A mother let her son stay with his grandparents, who were targeted by a business partner and Nathan was there. The sadness for everyone is heartbreaking. I simply can’t imagine.
